JMFF supports programs for the prevention, treatment and education of youth and young adults on the nature and dangers of substance use. With a particular emphasis on the rising opioid epidemic that now claims more than 70,000 lives per year, JMFF understands that the most effective treatment protocol for the disease of substance use requires a comprehensive approach including mental and physical health services for patient and family.
Substance use disease is one of our nation’s leading health care crises. Each day, more than 23 million Americans suffer from substance use and more than 100 million American family members are affected by their pain. Each year over 150,000 American men, women and children lose their lives to substances including drugs and alcohol, and opioid use has reached epidemic proportions.
Support for JMFF’s initiatives can and will save lives. Each donation plays a vital role in helping ensure that those in need receive access to lifesaving treatment and the critical overdose reversal medication Naloxone, preventative education, healthy alternatives to at-risk behaviors, and advocacy for legislation that will help keep illegal substances off the streets and will protect a care provider’s right to advocate for patients that require family and other outside support.
